Broken but beautiful- the story behind it all
About five months into the making of the CD, I realized I should probably start coming up with a theme of some sort for the CD. i spent about a week just praying, and searching God's heart. asking Him, What is it specifically He needs the world to hear? What does He need us to know?
One evening, i sat in my room on my old grey couch, once again praying about the CD. I looked around at my room, and on one of my shelves in the far corner a bowl of potpourri caught my eye.. Have you ever seen how potpourri is made? It must be quite a painful process for the flower. Now I'm no expert on making potpourri, but I have an idea on what the basics are. first the petals are torn from the flower, and dried out. When they're dry, you add salt to the mix, and a few drops of essential oils. the salt is in the mix to retain the essential oils so that the smell will last longer.
You see, we're all a bit like potpourri. So many of us have been broken and torn through the events of life. things just happen, and they change us. We keep asking God, why do You do this to us? why does this have to happen? God looks at us, and He knows we're broken. we might not think He'd be able to use us ever again. but He sees us, and you know what he sees? He sees someone broken, but Beautiful.
